El Minzah Hotel, Tangier

My stay at Hotel Rif & Spa had its ups and downs. The location was excellent, right at the top of the bustling Medina, but it felt more like a cozy B&B than a luxurious 5-star hotel. The service was a bit lacking with an indifferent attitude from the staff, and the rooms, unfortunately, were shabby and lacking in amenities. On the bright side, the dining experience was out of this world, but the hotel facilities left something to be desired.

The hotel's location is ideal, steps away from the old town and Medina, making it perfect for evening strolls. The rooms are fairly sized and kept very clean, but the fishy smell and lack of soundproofing can be bothersome. The service is mixed with some staff being grumpier, but others, like Ahmed, are exceptionally friendly. The dining experience falls short of a five-star standard, and the breakfast could use improvement. The hotel boasts a convenient location near attractions like the old souk market but lacks certain amenities.

The hotel has its ups and downs. The rooms are comfortable, but the noise from the garden can be disturbing. The service is a mix of helpful and unimpressive experiences. The location is perfect for exploring the city, but some aspects need improvement.

The cleanliness was satisfactory, with a good view of the new marina in early development. However, the service, though efficient, lacked friendliness, especially at reception and the restaurant cashier. The location was decent, between the medina and the Ville Nouvelle, but not well-maintained with some moldy cushion covers on limited sun beds. The dining experience was outstanding, with top-quality food, though the service and welcome were not up to the same standard. Overall, it was a stay with ups and downs.
